Hiking in Châtel

Hiking in Châtel, a great experience!

Châtel offers plenty of possibilities for hiking because it’s a great location in the French Alps, close to the largest ski area of Europe, Les Portes du Soleil, each suitable for a certain level. There are simple walking routes that take only one to a few hours, but there are also routes that are more suitable for more experienced hikers. These routes offer enough possibilities for young and old!

Besides the standard routes, Châtel offers variously themed and family hikes, which you can do with children or with the whole family. Would you like to go on a very challenging hike for multiple days? Please contact one of the many professional guides in the area! With, but also without guides you can spend days hiking and climbing in the French Alpes of Châtel. Are your hiking shoes ready to use?

Surrounded by beautiful hiking trails

Because of the convenient location of Oasis Les Portes du Soleil, you take a step out of your luxurious apartment which is directly at the chairlift. These lifts take you to Petit Châtel, where you can go higher up the mountain. There you can enjoy a lovely walk at altitude. We challenge you to leave the chairlift for what it is and do the hike yourself. The diversity of the area of Châtel makes it very attractive for hiking. From green mountainside to snow, farms and chalets. A typical French view!
