Good ski lifts and fast connections
In previous years, the ski lifts on the mountains have gotten a few upgrades, which has made exploring the Portes du Soleil ski area much easier. Skiing to Avoriaz and further used to be combined with a shuttle bus ride to alternative ski trails along the valley. Now you can go easily from the center of Châtel to the local ski area of Lac de Vonnes. From here the lifts can take you from one place to another very fast.

Most of the other lifts in Chatel go directly into the Swiss area of Portes du Soleil, centred around Morgins, Torgon, Champoussin, Les Crosets and Champéry. You can have a great skiing day here.
