#1: La Chapelle d'Abondance
The most family friendly village is La Chapelle d'Abondance. The village has its own ski area which is ideal for novice skiers and children. In the village you can take your ski lessons, find good restaurants, nice supermarkets and a bakery. Here you will experience an authentic and quiet winter sports experience. La Chapelle d'Abondance is ideal for winter sports with the family.
#2: Châtel
The popular winter sports village Châtel is the most centrally located ski village in the ski area Les Portes du Soleil. From here you can ski to Switzerland or to the other French ski villages in the surroundings. It is the ideal starting point for long ski trips. Châtel is an authentic ski village with cosy restaurants and bars. A good base for a winter sports holiday with family, friends or colleagues. #3: Morzine

The ski village of Avoriaz can be recognised by its high-rise buildings. The village is car-free and is situated at a snow-assured altitude. The highest mountains in the ski area are nearby and offer you a beautiful view over Mont Blanc. The village consists of separate neighbourhoods, where in the district "Centre" you will find a great selection of cosy bars and restaurants. This is where you want to be for après ski!
#5: Abondance
Compared to Avoriaz and Morzine, Abondance has remained a real farming village. The pleasant and authentic atmosphere provides a feeling of coming home. The village has its own ski area, ideal for novice skiers and families with children. Abondance is also the only village with its own cheese. Perfect for cheese fondue!
