The island of Noirmoutier
The island of Noirmoutier is easily accessible from the residence, it takes around 1 hour by car.
On arrival, two options are available to you to reach the island:
- The bridge: open every day.
- Le Gois: passable only at low tide (timetables displayed at the entrance to Le Gois).
Le Gois is a 4 km causeway which is exposed at low tide and which allows you to reach the island by car. It is also a very popular place for fishermen on foot, where they fish for clams.
Once on the island, you can admire the salt marshes, dunes and forests. Go to the Bois de la Chaise to see the architecture of the typical villas of Noirmoutier. Noirmoutier is also known for its quality products such as salt, its shellfish and its famous potatoes.
